If you're thinking of refinancing, you might want to take advantage of slightly lower mortgage interest rates. Mortgage applications were up 4.2% this last week according to Mortgage Bankers Association's seasonally adjusted report. Volume is still lower compared to this same time last year, but with the reduced rates it could be a good time to lock in a new 30 year fixed rate loan. Jumbo rates have decreased slightly, so it might be to your advantage. Since interest rates are down and applications for a loan to buy are up, it is crucial you have knowledge of homes coming on the market as well as current information from an agent who knows your marketplace. As you can see from the chart below, inventory remains very low. Hope you find this information useful.
